Chair Yoga in Amritsar

Chair yoga is gentle yoga done sitting on a chair or standing beside it. It suits older adults, people with stiff joints and anyone who finds getting down to the floor difficult.

Chair Yoga

What is chair yoga?

Every pose in this class can be done sitting on a sturdy chair or standing with a hand on its back. There is no getting down to the floor and back up again.

Divya adapts stretches, twists, gentle strength work and breathing for older bodies, stiff joints, and anyone rebuilding their confidence in movement.

Benefits of chair yoga

How chair yoga brings you balance

Joints that keep moving

Gentle work for the hips, knees, shoulders and hands: the joints you use to get up, reach and walk.

Balance with a safety rail

Standing poses with the chair close by let you practise balance without worrying about falling.

Company and calm

A friendly, unhurried class with breathing and relaxation built in.

Is chair yoga right for you?

Older students, people with limited mobility or stiff joints, anyone who finds the floor difficult, and people who spend long hours at a desk.

Is chair yoga safe for you?

If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, recent surgery, or anything that affects your balance, check with your doctor before you start and tell Divya at your first class.
